Dutch international Bas Takens joins the S2BMRC as intern for five month

Bas Takens is joining the Science-to-Business Marketing Research Centre from the 1st of February until the end of June. Bas, studying Business Administration at Hogeschool Inholland Alkmaar (The Netherlands), will be writing his Bachelor Thesis on University-Business Collaboration, with a specific focus on the area of Open Innovation from a corporate perspective. Bas came in contact with S2B when he visited Münster last year. During his Study-Abroad semester, he followed the course Strategic Marketing under Prof. Dr. Thomas Baaken and Dr. Todd Davey. Back then, Bas also contributed to the applied research for Vossko GmbH in the field of Employer Marketing under supervision of Prof. Baaken.

When asked about his expectations, Bas said the evidence-based way of working is something he really strives for. “More and more companies work in such a way that decisions should be properly accounted for. S2B is a great place to learn all about it, since their scientific research always has an applied side to it. I think this is especially true for R&D-decisions, since they can change a company’s strategic policy so immensely. At S2B, innovation, University and business really come together.”
